A fully funded 3 year PhD is available in the Healthtech research group at the University of Derby to start ASAP. The offer is £21,000 per year tax-free bursary, and we will also cover the PhD fees.

We’re looking for someone with a 2:1 or higher at Bachelors or Masters level. I will be happy to develop the title and focus of the research programme with the right candidate.

We are currently running existing research programmes around Kidney Dialysis outcomes, modelling and simulation to develop a ‘digital health twin’, and will soon be rolling out feasibility studies on MRI scanning and machine learning for decision support. The research which we conduct includes data analysis, smart sensors, physiology modelling and simulation, health prediction and diagnostics, real time monitoring.

The PhD candidate is likely to have a background in Engineering or Comp Sci, however this is not prescriptive and we would be happy to talk to someone from Health Sciences etc.

We will soon be moving into new refurbished accommodation on the vibrant main University of Derby campus, we collaborate closely with clinical and research colleagues from Royal Derby Hospital and Nottingham University, and we try our best to have a good time at work.

The post is available to UK and EU nationals.

Please feel free to contact Prof Paul Stewart p.stewart1@derby.ac.uk to discuss.
